Matlab built in functions

how the built in Matlab functions (e.g. Imerode) is implemented? By Which programming language and is it compiled?

Hard to say. You would need to ask the Mathworks to show you their source code. I am rather sure they would be somewhat reluctant to do that. If I was a betting man, I would say C/C++. A lot of Matlab routines are disguised BLAS/LAPACK.
Also, no Matlab functions are compiled when you call them. It is an interpreted language.

Reference has been made in the past to Mathworks routines having been implemented in Fortran. Some of them are implemented in Perl, and some of them in ksh. Other languages might be used as well.
