Default GUI "File"->"Save as..." Directory

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a way to change the default save location for the built in GUI "File"->"Save as.." command. As far as my understanding goes (from testing), it seems the built in "Save as..." defaults to the last saved directory. Again, anyway of changing this?

In the past:

I have implemented a button that makes this call

[FileName,PathName,FilterIndex] = uiputfile(savetypes,'Save Figure as...',fullfile(filePath,filenom));

and used saveas accordingly; however, this isn't a viable option in this instance.
