Parallel Computing Toolbox on M1 processors

Is the Parallel Computing Toolbox fully supported on the new M1 processors? Is it capable of leveraging their higher performance for the available number of cores (eg: 8 cores running on M1 would have better performance than 8 cores on i9 chips -all other things equal)?
