About system identification

Hello dears,
I am working with wavenet in the matlab sys ident toobox. My matlab version is 7.8.0 (R2009a).
I did not understand about the function expansion described in the user guide. Is the wavenet function expansion programed in matlab based on multiresolution approach? If not, please explain me, in what kind of wavelet network concept this is based?
Thank you very much!

Thanks for answering my question Rajiv!
Yes, i would like more info.
Is the wavelet network used by Matlab ortoghonal?
Can you tell me a little about how the bases functions are generated? they adjust according to the training data?
How as and aw are estimated in the expansion?
Thank you!!!
The algorithms are discussed in the papers that I refer to in the previous post. You can find the relevant references at:

(see all the papers by Dr. Qinghua Zhang)
Thank you very much for answer my questions Rajiv!
Please, let me know just one more thing.
Why Dr. Zhang does not mention the role of scale in any of his papers?
