Either a civil engineer or quantity surveying you always requested to calculate the amount of concrete, steel bars, or reinforcement percentage rate (throw tendering procedure)

Most of them didn’t practice such work daily or even weekly, this make that procedure are difficult and consume the time. Add to that the errors and omissions that is highly occurred due to lack of practicing.

By use this software the process is considered data entry (for concrete and steel bars) instead of doing measurement math calculation

What I realized from my experiences that most of estimation process is depend on an average calculation especially for steel reinforcement bars, instead of measurement calculation as its need a huge effort and high concentration

As result I decided to collect all the equations, calculation and relations of each part of concrete building, in excel files.

The software need an interface and marketing plan, which I am not familiar with.

Easy to use Errors percentage is almost 1% Time saving

You can hire Mathworks Consulting (or any other consultant) to build a software interface, but most would require that you had at least outlined the interface you wanted. Mathworks Consulting does not design marketing plans; you would need someone with marketing experience for that.

A question that I ask is "Is there a reasonable expectation of making a profit on this?" . Is it likely that your target audience will already have MATLAB? If not then would the plan be to sell the compiled executable? Which operating system would the target market be likely to use?

I would suggest to you that the larger market for this might be as an iPhone or Android app.

What exactly would you be selling? A one-time collection of data tables? A service involving continued update of those tables? Would you be using the application as a lead-generator for consulting services? These tables: how portable are they? Is it the same information that would be needed in Bismark, North Dakota USA (continental humid climate, gets quite cold in the winter) as in Portland, Oregon USA (warmer and much more humid, fairly strict building codes), as in Rome Italy, or as for building one of those high latitude telescopes in Peru ?
