Why does an imported GeoTIFF result in a slightly rotated image in RoadRunner?

I imported a GEOtiff inside RoadRunner. However, the picture is slightly rotated inside the boundaries. What happens here?
Inside the mapping toolbox, the GEOtiff looks as expected.

What you see in RoadRunner happens because we reproject the image into our scene's local meter space. By reprojecting it, the image stays accurate to the true world position and its information will be correct with other GIS data. The twisting comes from how the image was (or may have been) square in its projection, but when we unwrap the world in a different way for our scenes the pixels of the image happens to represent locations that are not in a straight line in the Transverse Mercator projection that our scenes use. The latitude and longitude of positions on the image should align correctly with the real world and other tools. If they do not, then the projection in the original image may be incorrect.
If you would like to validate this behavior, you can pick a point in the image in RoadRunner and use the Measurement Tool to find the latitude and longitude. After that, check the same point in Mapping Toolbox to validate that the latitude and longitude match.
