Replacing text using keyboard "insert" button

I'm using MATLAB 2013a, and I experience the problem that my "insert" key on the keyboard does not toggle the editor between replace/insert text input mode. I searched the internet, but could not find any solutions. I normally use replace text mode quite a lot during programming, so I would like this function to work. Is there an option to enable this?
Thanks!

This is from the release notes from 2013a (but it also applies to 2013b):
To enable Overwrite mode, assign a keyboard shortcut to this action. On the Home tab, in the Environment section, click Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts. Search or scroll to find the action name, Toggle Insert/Overwrite Mode, and assign a keyboard shortcut. Use this shortcut to toggle between Insert and Overwrite modes.

Not working, again... (2021b)
I have it bound to insert and i have ticked for it to work in the editor and the command line (as the universe intended it to work) but it only works in the command line for some reason.
