This error may be the result of having extra carriage returns in your license file. In order to avoid this, ensure that the following strings all begin on a left justified line:
#, SERVER, DAEMON, or INCREMENT.
Sometimes an INCREMENT line can get wrapped on the end of the preceding INCREMENT line, causing it to be omitted. You may also see this error when the license file has been edited using Microsoft Word or copied without formatting between 2 places. When editing the license file, be sure to use a plain text editor like Notepad, Nano, or TextEdit.
If the license file was emailed to you, try downloading it from the mathworks.com license center if you are able to do so, or have your License Administrator create a new one for you.
If you are a license administrator and you see this error in the log after trying to start the server, please double-check the path to the license file. If the path is correct, you may be missing "INTERNET=" before the IP address in the SERVER line of your license file. This can happen if you've activated using an IP address instead of a MAC address as the Host ID.
If you are unable to correct the problem with the license file, or if you do not see any formatting problems, contact the Installation and Licensing Team by creating a Service Request here:
