Why do I receive an error 347 when activating my license?

When following the steps to activate my license, I get a error message stating:

Error 347: Unassociated activation not allowed for this license. Please return to the Activation Welcome screen.

How do I activate my license?

Unassociated activation is only permitted for specific types of Designated Computer licenses. Individual licenses and most Designated Computer licenses do not support unassociated activation. This error will occur when attempting to perform an unassociated activation for a license type which does not support it.

To resolve this issue, return to the first activation screen and uncheck "Activate without associating to a license." Proceed with the activation process.
