Does the Mapping Toolbox 2.6 (R2007b) support DTED files with level 3, 4, or 5 resolution?

I would like to import and work with Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) files that have resolutions at levels 3, 4, or 5.

The United States Department of Defense has only created official specifications for DTED levels 0, 1, and 2. Higher levels have no official specifications and are thus unsupported by the Mapping Toolbox.
There are no workarounds.
