VS Code Extension for MATLAB was introduced back in April and has been downloaded 75K times since. Do people here use VS Code for writing MATLAB code?

Yes! It works really well with the rest of the Visual Studio Code extension ecosytem.

Never.
Because Windows can be a somewhat fragile operating system, with problems dependent on the exact order you install software, I have a number of virtual machines with different Windows state. The Microsoft Windows license says that I have to license each Window separately. Microsoft also has a lifetime limit on the number of Windows licenses you can have before you are considered not to be a "home" user. With all of this, I am not eligible to use the VS Community license, and would have to pay several thousand dollars per year to use Visual Studios.
