My research involves microgrid control and design, microgrids clustering, the impact of solar storms on the conventional grid, intermittency of renewable based MG, and integration of micro grids to New York electric power grid. Also I investigate the feasibility of smart grid implementations. Moreover I am involved in writing technical proposals.
My recent work is about interdependence between electrical power system and communication system in large scale applications. Further more I study the analogies between complex network and electrical power system grid to better understand and analyze it and it's interdependence with the communication system. I try to apply machine learning tools to investigate/ mitigate cascaded failure in the power system grids and study the vulnerabilities and critical spots in the conventional power grid alone and when the interdependence is realized.
