Online Benchmark for Control Education

An online benchmark for an Industrial Boiler Control Problem

The Online Benchmark for control engineering education is an international competition for students to approach an important control problem in order to test their control algorithms. In this version, an Industrial Boiler Control Problem is considered, where the system aim is to deliver steam of a given quality (temperature and pressure). The participants are encouraged to test their control approaches and obtain the best result looking for a tradeoff between performance and control effort. The competition is organized by the University of Almería and UNED (Spain),and sponsored by the International Federation of Automatic Control and MathWorks.
