AI and Mathematical Modelling in Pharma

Vaidehi Soman, Cipla

Overview

Scientists and engineers in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries experience day to day scenarios related to multidisciplinary data analysis, Industrial data communication, quality and process control followed by yield optimization, mechanistic models, and hybrid approaches to be implemented as end-to-end workflows. A multifaceted platform promoting early as well as easy prototyping enables engineering teams to move from internal research and development to design and implementation in a single environment.

Highlights

Our experts will cover important and relevant topics relevant to the pharma industry which can help you :

  • Hybridize data from many data streams, including signal, image, text, and genetic
  • Optimize pharmaceutical production through process engineering
  • Perform modeling and simulation for drug discovery and development
  • Design, implement, and deploy code to control new medical devices
  • Create automatic output reports

About the Presenters

Vaidehi Soman, Senior Manager, Cipla

Vaidehi works as a Process Engineer in the Manufacturing Science and Technology group at Cipla. She specializes in empirical modeling and physics based modeling for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Her goal is to take pharmaceutical manufacturing: from ‘reactive state’ to ‘proactive’ and further to ‘predictive state’.

Vaidehi has previously worked as a Technology Development Expert at Novartis Vaccines.

Vaidehi holds Masters in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay with specialization in Process System Design and Engineering.

Dr. Rob Holt, Bioscience Manager, MathWorks

Rob Holt currently serves as the Manager for Biological Sciences at MathWorks. He is a coordinator and collaborator for biology, biotech, and pharmaceutical applications. Previously, Rob spent five years as a Senior Scientist at Invicro, a Konica Minolta company, where he designed, implemented, and communicated image analysis algorithms for drug discovery and development. Rob earned his PhD at Dartmouth College, where he focused on molecular cancer imaging through multimodal medical image synthesis.

Dr. Shayoni Dutta

Shayoni Dutta is a senior application engineer at MathWorks focusing on technical computing. Her core experience lies in computational biology models and simulation, advanced statistics, machine learning. deep learning, medical imaging, and clinical-trial analytics. Prior to joining MathWorks, Shayoni worked as a data scientist at Bayer, and before that, as an imaging scientist at Sun Pharma Advanced Research Center. She also has served as adjunct faculty for the last six years at National Institute of Forensic sciences and Criminology under Home Ministry. She has a PhD. in computational biology from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She has published and reviewed papers in numerous international conferences and journals.
