mqtt.thingspeak.com down?

Hello, since today 14:00 CEST (UTC+2) (= 12:00 UTC = 4 hours ago) none of my thinkspeak clients running on Arduinos using PubSubClient are able to connect to mqtt.thingspeak.com. Until then, they have been running happily for months.

I tried to send some data manually but didn't succeed:

mosquitto_pub -d -h mqtt.thingspeak.com -u TESTTerrasseWemos -p 1883 -P xxxx -t "channels/cccc/publish/yyyy" -m "field1=10&field2=60" ; echo $?
Client mosq-xxxxxxx sending CONNECT
Error: Unknown error.
19

The exact errors differ from try to try. But I don't know if my call is definitely correct.

Any help or information what might have changed at mqtt.thingspeak.com?

Thank you very much.

Just to be curious: @christopher: Can you tell us anything about the backgrounds?

Our MQTT servers locked up and needed to be restarted. Data in the queues got published eventually. This is a single isolated incident as far as we know.

We are working on updates to MQTT functionality that we intend to make available in a future release.

Since about 21.13 CEST (19.13 UTC) everything seems ok again.

We've been able to reproduce some of this locally. We are looking into it and will let you know as soon as we have more information.

Same problem here in Bruges, Belgium. None of my Arduinos or RPi's can publish data. Pinging mqtt.thingspeak.com not succesful.

Now I got one (!) successfull call after trying several times:

Client mosqpub|2891-tonic sending CONNECT
Client mosqpub|2891-tonic received CONNACK
Client mosqpub|2891-tonic sending PUBLISH (d0, q0, r0, m1, 'channels/xxxx/publish/xxxx', ... (19 bytes))
Client mosqpub|2891-tonic sending DISCONNECT
0

Is there any stability problem on the server side?

Same behaviour, occasionally (last few hours) I have a "Published OK" message from my running script, instead of an error message. However, these rare "succesful" data points do not appear in my graphs. Scripts have been running perfect last 2 years, last couple of weeks occasionally a warning (I use Twitter to generate a warning if a channel is not updated after 10 min), don't know if this was/is the same problem.
